Hogsalt Hospitality is seeking a Full-Time Multi-Unit Facilities Repair Technician to support our current restaurants and future development projects. Hourly Wage for this position is based on experience.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented with a strong initiative to take on a wide variety of tasks. The candidate should possess the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of directors, vendors, contractors, and has proven capabilities in multi-tasking, problem solving and prioritizing workloads.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing preventative maintenance programs to support the following:
    • Plumbing
    • HVAC
    • Refrigeration
    • Kitchen hot line equipment
    • Grease trap cleaning
    • Kitchen exhaust hood cleaning and mechanicals, and any other areas that can be maintained to prolong the life of the equipment and prevent issues before they arise.
  • Ability to perform repairs in the following areas (but not limited to):
    • Plumbing
    • Electrical
    • Kitchen equipment and appliances
    • Light millwork
    • Painting
    • Doors
    • Tile work
  • Collaborates with other facilities personnel on various projects.
  • Responds to maintenance requests from stores in a timely fashion.
  • Performs regular property inspections.
  • Advises store managers on a variety of technical engineering issues.
  • Available on a 24-hour basis in order to address building emergencies.
  • Reports to Facilities Director and other members of the Director team.
  • Light millwork and construction projects.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a multi-unit facilities maintenance position.
  • Excellent operational knowledge of restaurant physical plant facilities and equipment.
  • Experience with new builds and renovations.

Job Duties Include, but not limited to:

  • Provide translation for employees when needed including documents, forms and signs.
  • Assist with ensuring HR or employment related documents are saved in Stratex and on main file server (Dropbox or equivalent).
  • Assist with the Open Call duties: update tracking sheet, communicate open jobs and assist with background check forms. Attend Open Call when needed.
  • Assist with open enrollment activities such as meetings and materials for plans. Respond to employee insurance questions and update employee personal information as requested. Create Qualifying Life Event letters.
  • Distribute FMLA documents based on leave requests and/or needs. Track each leave to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain employee gift and referral bonus program.
  • Create and distribute monthly Hogsalt newsletter.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and employee garnishment requests.
  • Responsible for sorting through HR mail and communicating important information and deadlines.
  • Assist with setting up for monthly fitness classes and communicate to participating employees.
  • Complete bi-annual I-9 audit.
  • Complete quarterly social security and NOW audit.
  • Print Hogsalt discount cards and enter card information in Aloha.
  • Create flyers for various employee communication and send out Mail chimp blasts as needed.
  • Complete the monthly HR expense report.
  • Audit the company careers website.
  • Assist with employee relations as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in an HR Assistant or Coordinator role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in both English and Spanish.
  • Experience with HRIS; Stratex preferred.
  • Basic labor law knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to efficiently organize workload and adapt quickly to change.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
